USA vs Canada live score, updates, highlights of 2024 Olympics men’s basketball warm-up match

As the 2024 Olympics approach, teams are beginning their preparations for the Paris Games.

The United States and Canada will begin their men’s basketball warm-up matches on Wednesday with a clash between the tournament’s top two teams.

Team USA is star-studded as usual, with a generational trio of LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant leading the way. Canada is fielding the best team in its history, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jamal Murray and RJ Barrett.

The North American competitors will face off in a warm-up match to test their skills ahead of the Olympics on July 28.

Second quarter

23:07: Team USA took the lead for the first time in the game. LeBron James pinned Nickeil Alexander-Walker on one end, which led to Devin Booker’s 3-pointer the other way. With 6:15 left in the first half, the USA leads Canada 28-23.

23:01: Here comes Anthony Edwards. The young star brings energy with six quick points off the bench. HE It brought Team USA within 21-20 early in the second quarter.

End of first quarter: Canada 21, US 14

22:54: Canada went on an 11-1 run to take a 7-point lead into the second quarter. Kelly Olynyk led all scorers with 7 quick points off the bench for Canada, while Jayson Tatum had 4 points to lead Team USA.

The USA made 1-of-7 3-pointers in the period.

22:51: Anthony Edwards was thrown out of bounds on the opening possession. With less than two minutes left in the quarter, Canada leads 17-12 over Team USA.

22:49: Team USA made a complete roster change, adding Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum, Bam Adebayo and Anthony Davis.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is joined on the Canadian national team by Andrew Nembhard, Luguentz Dort, Trey Lyles and Kelly Olynyk.

22:43: Stephen Curry finally makes a 3-pointer for Team USA. Their first field goal came about five minutes into the game.

22:42: Canada’s defense stifles the United States early. Team USA started the game 0-6 on the field Canada takes an 11-1 lead midway through the quarter.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made a difficult 3-pointer off the dribble to get his team into the game.

22:36: Dillon Brooks scores the first point of the game — a mid-range shot over Joel Embiid to make it 2-0 for Canada. Here we go!

When do the Olympics start?

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics will be held on July 26. The men’s basketball tournament will begin the following day on July 27 and conclude with the medal games on August 10.

Team USA is one of 12 teams that have qualified for the Paris Olympics and will play in Group C with Serbia, South Sudan and Puerto Rico.
