Oliver Bearman gets advice from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc

The advice comes after Bearman put in an impressive performance as a substitute for Carlos Sainz at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix earlier this year.

Bearman, who is only 19 years old, showcased his talent by finishing seventh in Jeddah despite the difficult conditions.

His rapid adaptation to Ferrari was an indication that he was ready for the pinnacle of motorsport.

Leclerc, who mentored Bearman during their time together at Ferrari, said his confidence in the young Briton’s abilities had not been shaken.

“I know Oliver very well, to be honest, I think he is an incredibly talented driver,” Leclerc told the media.

“He showed that in Jeddah when he jumped in the car and immediately became very, very strong.”

Bearman, who had a difficult season in Formula 2 and is currently in 13th place, will be promoted to Haas next year, showing his potential in Formula 1.

Leclerc has warned Bearman not to put too much pressure on himself as he moves into a full-time F1 role.

“He just needs to take his time, make the mistakes he needs to make to learn and become a better driver,” Leclerc advised.

“Not putting too much pressure on himself will allow him to perform to his best potential.”

The next F1 event is the Hungarian Grand Prix, scheduled for the weekend of July 19-21 and the 13th race of the Formula 1 season. The race will take place over 70 laps of the 4.381-kilometre Hungaroring in Budapest on Sunday, July 21.
